The Virgins at Cafe Du Nord
The Virgins at Cafe Du Nord
The Virgins are a newish rock band out of Manhattan. I’ve been in love with their EPĀ (favorite track: Fernando Pando). If you listen to them, be sure to check out both the EP and full length versions of their songs. Last night’s crowd was sure to call out "EP version!" before a few songs, especially Love is Colder Than Death. The Virgins will be headlining at the Fillmore October 13th, and I’m wondering if they’ll have more than 45 minutes of music to play…

As requested: 5 of my favorite songs for a foggy SF day
5 of my favorite songs for a foggy day in SF:
- Whenever you see fit (modest mouse / 764-HERO) - it’s haunting and i was listening to it when i first moved to SF. on the #21 Muni.
- Everyday is like Sunday (Morrissey) - about a “seaside town that forgot to close down”
- Anenome (Brian Jonestown Massacre) - BJM is a Bay Area band and this song is moody and haunting
- Send in the Clouds (Silver Jews) - the upside of bad weather
- Miss You (The Concretes’ cover of the Rolling Stones song) - because there’s always someone with whom you’d like to enjoy the upside of bad weather. where are they?

I just reorganized my music collection…autobiographically…so figured this would be a good time to make a playlist of songs I’ve always loved. Currently getting into TV on the Radio and My Bloody Valentine. And checking out the new Wolf Parade album in anticipation of the Fillmore show in July.
